I just spent the last two days visiting one of our new sisal suppliers. It was a great meeting, and I am excited about lots of the new products that we discussed adding to our site. More on these in a later blog. Besides being quite hospitable and innovative, they do a great job at rug finishing. Some of the details I observed during my visit to the sisal workroom were: hand-sewn mitered corners; padding between the binding and rug to prevent the pattern from telescoping through the binding; and attaching felt pads to the back. They also take great care selecting the proper serged yarns to use when serging rugs. This is harder than one would think.
