Are you looking for the best indoor/ outdoor rug? Are you a fan of natural sisal? If you answered yes, then we have got a good alternative flooring for you. We are excited to introduce our newest weaves in our Synthetic Sisal Collection!
Our latest Synthetic Sisal weaves, Paddington and Sydney, are woven on our sisal looms in Europe. They were designed to exactly mimic our most popular natural sisal weaves. We have quite a few Synthetic Sisal weaves in our collection, but until now, none that have been woven on a sisal loom. As we continue to blur the lines between synthetic sisal and natural sisal, we are confident that we will continue to lead the way in the market of Synthetic Sisal.
“Curran was one of the first to bring synthetic sisal to the States, and their current selection is extensive.”- Apartment Therapy
This collection of weaves is exceptionally soft underfoot, looks stylish in any room, and is a sensible option for clean-ability. If you are looking for the sisal look without the worry of spills, stains, cleaning etc., then look no further. Both of our newest weaves can be used indoors or out in residential or light contract settings. We prefer it for use indoors because we think it’s remarkably elegant and adds exquisite texture. It definitely appeals equally to a classic or modern aesthetic. Paddington and Sydney can be bound with cotton, linen or leather. If you are looking for a more formal look, we offer a blind stitch and mitered corners as an upgrade.
Paddington is one of our 100% polypropylene Synthetic Sisal weaves. It is nearly impossible to notice that it is not the real sisal Basque weave. Because it is woven on our sisal loom, it is an exact replica of the authentic bouclé texture.
Sydney is also one of our 100% polypropylene Synthetic Sisal weaves. It is identical to our popular sisal Dragon Grass weave and carefully woven on our sisal loom, so it replicates the same authentic chunky texture.

Could you tell me how the price per square foot?
Thank you,
Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for reaching out to us. The price per square foot depends on which material, bindings, and padding you select. For example, our Paddington synthetic sisal rugs start at $76 per square yard, while our exclusive contract-grade SynSisal products begin at $106 per square yard. You can calculate the exact price of your rug or carpet if you know the dimensions by selecting “Order Your Rug” under your favorite material and filling in the appropriate information.
Of course, our customer service team is always happy to help so please don’t hesitate to contact them.
Best,
Patrick
can you send me a sample?
Dear Suzanne,
I just took over writing the blog for sisalcarpet.com and was wondering whether you still needed a sample. And if so, a sample of which weave? You could order the samples yourself going to this site https://www.sisalcarpet.com/catalog/All-Outdoor. It is really an easy ordering process. Swatches are $1.75 per sample. Or if you need help deciding, don’t hesitate to contact our knowledgeable customer service team via email [email protected] or via phone 877-75-SISAL.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Best,
Martina
